War memorial conservation

Hopkins Homes has added the memorial in Brandeston, near to Framlingham, to its £500,000 charitable fund.

Executive chairman James Hopkins said: "The Brandeston war memorial is important to local heritage, and particularly so this year as the nation commemorates the centenary of the end of the First World War. Hopkins Homes is proud to support this conservation work as part of our commitment to community projects."

The memorial was built with public donations in the churchyard of the village's Grade I All Saints church during the 1920s and has been updated to commemorate the fallen of both world wars.

Frances Moreton, director of War Memorials Trust said: "Hopkins Homes' generous donation is helping to support war memorials in East Anglia and make sure that works undertaken follow best conservation practice."
