New Interior Design Look

We’ve recently rolled out a new interior design look for our stunning four-bedroom showhome at ‘Wickham Gate’ in Wickham Market, Suffolk.

Designed by Haus Interiors Ltd, the showhome radiates with warmth and comfort.  It is not staged or clinical, instead offering a sumptuous, homely feel that has been carefully curated with the layering of accessories and soft furnishings.

The new interior design uses a combination of new and recycled furniture from previous showhomes to add to the welcoming feel.   Each room has been attentively designed to enhance our unique features including raised ceiling heights and coving; the painting of the woodwork to showcase the built-in wardrobes and Ogee profiled skirting boards; and the Inglenook fireplace in the living room with its reclaimed brickwork.

Felicity Stevens, Co-Founder and Owner at Haus Interiors commented “I honestly want to move in, if only it wasn’t so far away from the office.  A rich colour palette that’s still beautifully light, and not too imposing.  Super homely, showing how a new build can still have character and tradition.”

Ambient lighting, authentic artwork and practical, real-world features such as dog bowls and wellies add to the relaxed chic look.

We spoke to Sales Consultant Lauren Adams to find out what makes this home so special…

Lauren, what makes this showhome different?

“As a 5-star housebuilder with an enviable reputation, we set high standards in the local area.  We enjoy our personality and want to create charm so that our showhomes really feel like homes – not an over personalised showhome.”

What style does the showhome follow?

We adopt a different approach to our showhomes, so that they appeal to buyers of all ages.  We don’t follow interior design trends because we want to create an enduring appeal. We enjoy style, not fashion.

Wickham Gate is set within a beautiful Suffolk village, so the showhome offers a relaxed country chic, with a classic aesthetic.  Botanical greens, earthy tones, interesting textures, and warm woods, help reflect the location and setting.

Can you describe the showhome to us?

“I’ll do my best, but it must be seen to be fully appreciated. Our ‘Denton’ showhome is built in a traditional style but with carefully crafted flexible spaces, so it has a contemporary edge. It’s highly energy-efficient, designed with modern family life in mind and styled in a rich colour pallet that’s still light and welcoming. It blends character and tradition and really delivers the wow factor.”

Tell us more about the features…

“It’s a Georgian-style property with a wide fronted elevation built in a Buffburn yellow handmade clay brick.  It has Georgian sash windows, full height brick chimney and a stunning portico entrance. Two of the four double bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and each bedroom enjoys built-in wardrobes, a feature not often included in newly built homes.”

What are your favourite aspects of the showhome?

“What sets this apart from other showhomes is its size and scale – each room is generously proportioned.  The living room has an inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove leading into a large open plan kitchen/diner with French doors opening onto a spacious rear garden.  The vast kitchen features a large sociable island making it super stylish and an adaptable space, whether it’s for entertaining, cooking or everyday family life. I really like the way that the utility room has been cleverly designed with external access for muddy boots or paws!”

How energy efficient is the showhome?

“This is a key feature of all the homes at Wickham Gate. We have Air Source Heat Pumps (which absorb air from the outside to heat the home’s interior and hot water), underfloor heating and a provision for electric vehicles throughout the development. We’re really proud of these features.”

Any other interesting features at this development?

“As a local business, we’re very clear on our commitment to conservation, so we’ve installed ‘hedgehog highways’ throughout the development. These are little openings in garden fences that allow hedgehogs to move freely between gardens in search of food, family & nesting materials. This is vital for the long-term survival of the species. We have also pledged to plant at least two new trees per dwelling to improve the biodiversity of the site.”

What kind of buyer might be attracted to this development?

“This new community is perfect for buyers wanting a beautiful location with plenty going on, that’s still commutable for city workers. We’re right in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, close to the River Deben and within the Suffolk Coastal Heritage area.

Wickham Market is a bustling village, with great independent shops, all within walking distance of the development.

The market town of Woodbridge is just 5 miles away and Ipswich is only 13 miles, so it’s a great option for commuters and those wishing to work from home.”

How many properties are available at Wickham Gate?

“Wickham Gate offers a stunning collection of 1 to 4-bedroom homes with prices currently starting from £275,000 for a 2-bedroom home.  We have homes available that are ideal for first-time buyers and downsizers, as well as families seeking more space. We’ve unfortunately sold all our current bungalows, but we have a few remaining that will be released for sale soon.”

What are your customers saying about the new interior design look?

“Simply, WOW”.  I have quite a few visitors that return time and time again, to gather ideas for their new or existing home.  It truly must be seen in person to be fully appreciated.
