Energy Efficiency

Choosing a new-build home means choosing greater energy efficiency from day one. Modern construction methods, advanced insulation, high-performance windows and energy-efficient heating systems all work together to reduce heat loss and lower energy consumption. This not only helps cut carbon emissions, but can also significantly reduce your monthly energy bills compared to many older properties.

By combining thoughtful design with the latest building standards, we create homes that are more comfortable to live in, more cost-effective to run, and better for the planet.

The new build advantage

According to the Home Builders Federation, a typical new-build home is estimated to be around three times more energy efficient than an older home.

This translates into real savings - lower energy bills month after month, and a significantly reduced carbon footprint. It's better for your wallet and better for the planet.

All our homes have an A or B EPC rating, compared to less than 5% of existing older properties.

Why renovate when you can buy new?

Renovating an older property can seem appealing — but the true cost of bringing it up to modern standards is often significantly underestimated. Structural upgrades, rewiring, new plumbing, insulation improvements, replacement windows, heating systems and energy-efficiency measures can quickly add up.

According to February 2023 data from the Home Builders Federation (HBF), it could cost up to £70,000 to upgrade an older home to match the standards of a modern new-build property. And that’s before factoring in the time, disruption and unexpected issues that often arise during renovation projects.

When you weigh up the financial investment, the time commitment and the uncertainty of renovation, buying new can offer far greater value, certainty and peace of mind.

Designed for efficiency from the ground up

At the heart of our homes is a fabric-first approach — because the most effective way to improve energy efficiency is to get the structure right from the very beginning.

This means we focus on the performance of the building itself before adding technology. We use high levels of insulation, enhanced airtightness, and thermally efficient windows and doors to minimise heat loss and prevent draughts. By strengthening the building fabric, your home naturally retains warmth in winter and stays more comfortable year-round — reducing the amount of energy needed to heat and maintain it.

Getting these fundamentals right means lower energy use, reduced carbon emissions and no need for disruptive, costly retrofitting in the future. The efficiency is built in from day one.

Technology that reduces your carbon footprint

Alongside this fabric-first foundation, many of our developments also include carefully selected technologies to further enhance performance and comfort — supporting lower running costs, modern connectivity and healthier living environments.

Underfloor Heating

Paired with air source heat pumps, underfloor heating distributes warmth evenly and efficiently throughout your home, providing superior comfort whilst using less energy than traditional radiators.

Photovoltaic Panels

Where installed, solar panels generate clean, renewable electricity for your home, helping you reduce reliance on the energy grid and lower your bills.

dMEV Decentralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation

A modern, energy-efficient ventilation system designed to remove moisture-laden air from key areas such as kitchens and bathrooms. Quiet and discreet, the fans operate continuously at a low background level, with a boost function available when needed – improving air quality while helping to reduce condensation, damp and mould.

Electric Vehicle Charging

As we move towards a greener future, more households are making the switch to electric vehicles. That's why many of our homes come equipped with electric vehicle charging points, making it convenient and cost-effective to charge at home. It's one less thing to think about as you transition to more sustainable transport – simply plug in overnight and wake up ready to go.

Where EV charging isn't included as standard, the infrastructure is often pre-installed, making it straightforward to add a charging point when you're ready.

High Speed Broadband

We’ve partnered with Pulse Fibre to give homeowners access to lightning-fast broadband from the moment you move in – no waiting around for installation appointments or lengthy connection processes. Even better, we're including 12 months of free broadband service, so you can stream, work from home and stay connected without worrying about bills as you settle into your new home.
