Pride in the Job recognition for Church Farm Site Manager

Luke Catchpole, Site Manager at Church Farm, has been recognised with an NHBC Pride in the Job Award, celebrating the high standards, attention to detail and commitment to quality demonstrated across the development.

The annual awards are among the most respected accolades in the housebuilding industry. This year, just 449 winners were selected from 7,500 sites across the UK, placing Luke among the top 6% of site managers nationally.

The recognition reflects not only Luke’s own dedication, but the collective effort of the wider team responsible for delivering homes at Church Farm.

Reflecting on the achievement, Luke said: “I was incredibly proud and honoured. Winning a Pride in the Job Award is something every Site Manager aspires to achieve, so to be recognised by NHBC was a fantastic moment.

“It was also very humbling because I know how much hard work from so many people goes into creating a successful development.”

A commitment to quality at Church Farm

For Luke and the Church Farm team, quality is considered at every stage of the build, from the elements that will eventually be hidden from view to the finishing details homeowners experience when they first step through the door.

“Quality means getting things right from the beginning rather than relying on fixing issues later,” Luke explained. “It’s about paying attention to every detail, maintaining consistency throughout the build process and ensuring every homeowner receives a home I’d be proud to hand over to my own family.”

Regular inspections, clear communication with trades and consistent quality checks all play an important part in maintaining those standards.

Luke pays particular attention to foundations, structural work and first-fix installations, helping to ensure every home is built on strong foundations. The finishing stages are approached with the same care, ensuring the completed home reflects the quality customers expect.

Creating homes and communities to be proud of

Church Farm has been designed with careful attention to both the quality of its homes and the experience of living there.

Luke said: “I’m most proud of the quality of the homes we’ve delivered and the reputation we’ve built along the way. We’ve worked hard to create a development that people are genuinely excited to move into and be part of.”

For Luke, one of the most rewarding aspects of the role is seeing a development become an established community.

“It’s a combination of quality homes, a great location and a strong sense of community. Seeing neighbours settle in, families grow and people take pride in where they live is what makes the development special.”

That sense of pride is particularly evident when a new homeowner receives their keys.

“A home is one of the biggest purchases people make in their lives, so being part of that journey is a privilege. Seeing families enjoying their homes and making memories there makes all the hard work worthwhile.”

A team achievement

Although Pride in the Job recognises individual Site Managers, Luke is keen to emphasise that the award is also testament to the skill and dedication of the people working alongside him.

“This award absolutely belongs to the wider team,” he said. “I’d like to recognise our site management team, supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and everyone who has contributed to Church Farm.

“Quality construction is always a team effort, and this achievement wouldn’t have been possible without their dedication and hard work.”

Maintaining those standards comes down to clear expectations, accountability and a shared sense of pride in the finished result.

“Communication, accountability and leading by example are key. I make sure everyone understands what good looks like, celebrate successes where they’re deserved and challenge issues when improvements are needed.”

Building on success

The award has provided fresh motivation for Luke and the Church Farm team as work continues on the development.

“The award has given everyone a real boost and reinforced that the standards we’re striving for are being recognised,” Luke said. “It’s motivated us to continue pushing for excellence and look for ways to improve even further.”

For Luke and his team, however, the focus remains unchanged: delivering thoughtfully built homes to consistently high standards and creating an experience homeowners can feel confident in.

“We’ll continue focusing on quality, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. Winning the award is a fantastic achievement, but our priority remains delivering exceptional homes and ensuring every customer has a positive experience from start to finish.”
