How Part Exchange helped Alex and Beth secure their new home in Bramford

For Alex and Beth, finding the right home was about more than simply gaining extra space. They wanted a well-designed home in a convenient location, with the character and quality they valued, as well as the practical benefits that come with buying new.

When they discovered Church View in Bramford, they quickly realised it offered what they had been looking for.

“We wanted a bigger home, more space and a location that worked better for both of us,” Alex explains. “We also liked the practical benefits of a new build, such as lower maintenance and improved energy efficiency.”

Finding the right location

Location was one of the biggest factors in Alex and Beth’s search. With convenient access to the A12 and A14, Church View made travelling for work easier, while still offering the village setting and green spaces they wanted.

“The location was probably the biggest thing for us,” says Beth. “When we saw the development, we immediately felt it was a much better fit than where we had been living before.”

The couple were also drawn to the scale and design of Church View.

“We liked that it wasn’t a huge development,” Alex says. “It felt well considered, and we really liked the choice of materials and the different styles of homes. There’s much more character to them.”

That sense of character was also one of the reasons Hopkins Homes stood out during their search.

“We’ve always thought Hopkins Homes builds really attractive houses,” says Beth. “They have that more traditional, heritage-inspired look, which we preferred to a lot of the other new homes we had seen.”

Securing their new home with Part Exchange

When Alex and Beth found the home they wanted, Alex’s existing property was already on the market. Although they were not under pressure to move immediately, they knew they did not want to risk losing the home at Church View.

“We really fell in love with the house,” Alex says. “It ticked all the boxes for us – the location, the character and all of those little details that mattered. Once we had found it, we wanted to make sure we could secure it.”

Using Hopkins Homes’ Part Exchange scheme gave them the reassurance they needed to move forward.

“One of the things we really liked was that we could secure our new home through Part Exchange while still having the opportunity to sell my existing property privately,” Alex explains. “Being able to reserve the Hopkins home meant we could relax a little, knowing we had secured the house we wanted.”

Alex’s previous property did go on to sell privately during the process, but the couple remained within the Part Exchange scheme, which gave them greater certainty throughout their move.

“It gave us real peace of mind,” says Beth. “We didn’t want to go away, come back and find the house had been sold to someone else. Being able to reserve it through Part Exchange made a real difference.”

The scheme helped remove some of the uncertainty that can come with selling an existing property, allowing Alex and Beth to focus on their move to Church View.

Support that worked around them

Alex and Beth were travelling in Morocco while part of their purchase was being arranged, making clear communication particularly important.

“The whole process was really supportive,” says Alex. “We were abroad at the time, so phone calls weren’t always easy, but the team adapted to what worked for us and we were able to deal with things over email.”

Beth adds: “The communication was really good. We would send an email and often get a response very quickly, which made the whole process feel much easier.”

The couple particularly appreciated the flexibility shown by the Hopkins Homes team and Sales Executive Kim throughout the process.

“It felt like the team really adapted to our situation and what we needed,” Alex says. “That flexibility helped us secure the home even while we were away.”

More space for everyday life

Now settled into Church View, Alex and Beth are enjoying both their new home and its surroundings.

Green space was an important part of their search, particularly after previously living in a more urban location.

“One of the things we wanted from our next home was a good-sized garden and more open space around us,” says Alex. “That was another thing Church View really delivered on.”

The couple have already started exploring the public footpaths and riverside walks close to their home, while Bramford itself offers useful everyday amenities within easy reach.

“We like having the village nearby and being able to walk to places,” says Beth. “There’s enough around us to make everyday life convenient, while still having plenty of green space to enjoy.”

Their home itself has also delivered the character they were hoping for, with the lounge proving a particular favourite.

“I really love the lounge and the fireplace,” Beth says. “It’s a lovely feature and gives the room so much character.”

The kitchen and built-in wardrobes have also become favourite features, combining thoughtful design with the practicality the couple wanted from their new home.

A move they would recommend

Looking back on their experience, Alex and Beth say they would happily recommend both Hopkins Homes and Part Exchange to buyers in a similar position.

For them, the scheme provided the reassurance they needed to secure a home they had quickly fallen for, while the support from the sales team helped make the process feel straightforward – even while arranging part of their purchase from overseas.

Their move to Church View has given them the extra space, convenient location and characterful home they were looking for, together with a setting that feels well suited to the next stage of their lives.
