Backing the next generation of Colchester footballers
A young Colchester football team is preparing for another exciting season with continued support from Hopkins Homes.
Following a remarkable debut campaign in which the team reached a cup final, Colchester City Ladies FC’s Under-8 girls’ team will once again be supported by Hopkins Homes as it looks to build on its early success.
The sponsorship reflects our commitment to supporting the communities surrounding Willow Grove, our forthcoming development in Great Horkesley.
A fantastic first season
Colchester City Ladies FC’s Under-8 team was formed ahead of its first league season, giving more young girls in the area the opportunity to enjoy football in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Thanks to the enthusiasm of its players and the dedication of its coaches and volunteers, the new team quickly found its feet. Its impressive first campaign culminated in an appearance in the cup final – a fantastic achievement for a newly formed squad.
Our sponsorship has helped the club provide essential equipment, including footballs, bibs and cones, alongside branded training tops for every player.
Aaron Harris, Vice Chairman of Colchester City Ladies FC, said:
“We’re incredibly grateful to Hopkins Homes for supporting our Under-8 girls’ team. Their sponsorship helped us establish the team ahead of joining the league by providing essential equipment, including high-quality training tops featuring the Hopkins Homes logo for every player.
“Grassroots football relies heavily on the support of local businesses, and partnerships like this make a genuine difference. The girls have worn their training tops with pride throughout the season, which culminated in reaching the cup final in our first league campaign.
“It’s fantastic to see Hopkins Homes investing in the local community and helping to create opportunities for more young girls to get involved in football.”
Building skills, confidence and friendships
Colchester City Ladies FC is an FA-accredited grassroots club that gives girls the opportunity to develop their football skills, build confidence and make new friends through sport.
Clubs like this play an important role in bringing communities together, supported by the time and commitment of volunteer coaches, families and local partners.
Ben Fewsdale, Regional Managing Director for untypical’s Anglia region, which includes Hopkins Homes, said:
“We’re thrilled to support Colchester City Ladies FC and help this fantastic Under-8 team build on such a successful first season.
“Grassroots clubs are at the heart of local communities, and we’re delighted to support one that is creating more opportunities for young girls across Colchester.”
