Senior Layout Designer 

The foundation of Hopkins Homes is based on a commitment to excellent design and quality, which reflects the tradition and character of each individual development. We are renowned for building new homes with character and individual style throughout the East Anglian region.

As part of our continued expansion, we are looking to recruit an experienced Layout Designer. Reporting directly to the Director of Design, you who will become actively involved in a wide variety of exciting residential projects throughout East Anglia.

Essential Skills; 

  • A good understanding of urban design principles
  • Excellent CAD skills including the use of Photoshop
  • Freehand sketching skills
  • Ability to prepare detailed, commercially viable, feasibility sketches and studies in accordance with site brief
  • Ability to prepare and compile detailed planning application drawings including house types, site layouts and material schedules
  • Confidence to be able to take full responsibility and leadership on schemes in addition to working as part of a small dedicated team
  • Brief, instruct and coordinate external consultants as required
  • Excellent oral and visual communication skills
  • Keen to join a progressive, award winning and multi-talented design team
  • Appreciation of what constitutes 'good design' is essential
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience working within a UK residential developer or architectural environment

Planning Coordinator

This is a new role reflecting the award winning Company’s continued expansion and its position as the East Anglia region’s largest independent House Building Company. 

To assist the in-house planning team in facilitating the delivery of development projects through the administration and coordination of the formal planning application process.  The job will involve coordinating the initial phase of planning projects and will include managing a strict regime of compliance with Planning Conditions.

You will ideally have previous experience of providing planning advice and of the planning application processes and you will be an extremely organised person, able to take responsibility for your own work and at the same time contribute to the overall team performance.

The role is suited to someone either from an planning administrative background who would want a more hands on approach to interesting planning projects or someone with planning process experience but can focus on coordinating various work streams to help deliver the developments in a timely and organised way.   

Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage efficiently a caseload of applications and related projects. Working knowledge of relevant legislation, planning policy and guidance would be a distinct advantage.

Assistant Sales Consultants

In addition to above we are also looking to recruit Sales Assistants to support our team and provide holiday and absence cover where required. Previous sales experience in a competitive environment is desirable for someone looking to move into the New Homes industry.

This role require good communication and IT skills, a full driving licence and own transport. Working hours are 10am to 5pm Thursday to Monday.
