A four week consultation process by Award Winning Hopkins Homes concerning its proposed mixed-use redevelopment of the Station Hill site in Bury St Edmunds will commence on Monday 18 January 2010. Running until Monday 15 February 2010 the consultation will be inviting local residents and stakeholders for their views on the masterplan proposals  which have been allocated for redevelopment in successive Local Plans. The proposals are available to view online at www.stationhill.co.uk, via the distributed information leaflets, or by request on 0800 169 8766. Residents are encouraged to complete and return the comment form provided.
The masterplan proposals for a high quality mixed-use scheme include approximately 300 homes with a mixture of town houses, apartments, terraces, and detached/ semi detached homes, along with retail uses located near the existing station and a possible hotel in the old mill building.
Robert Eburne, Planning Manager at Hopkins Homes, said “we look forward to hearing the views of the local people. The Station Hill area is an important and prominent part of Bury St Edmunds and we are keen to deliver a high quality development in a coordinated and sympathetic way. We encourage the local community to participate in this consultation process. All feedback will be reviewed to inform our final masterplan before it is submitted to the Council for its consideration later this year.”
A Freephone Information Line, 0800 169 8766, is operational during office hours should members of the public have any questions regarding the proposed masterplan.
